Saturn Returns

Saturn Returns explores the psychospiritual clashes produced in Black people by the weight of history. It explores two notions of circularity: the (modern) psychological understanding of being trapped repeating self-destructive patterns, and, on a spiritual level, the affirming circularity of rebirth along family lineage that is a feature of Igbo mythology, contrasting both with (often corrupted) Christian notions of redemption through suffering, and mystical notions of escaping the constraining mortal (physical) realm through astral projection.

Two dancers are performing on stage, bathed in intense orange light, with one leaning backward and the other lying down and their are performing Saturn Returns, a production by Gateway Arts

Eve and Cain

In ‘Eve and Cain’ we follow the journey of a mother and son as they journey through understanding the intersectionalities of being black, gay and disabled today, and explore the complexities of trying to understand these aspects of identity. ‘Eve and Cain’ is an honest dialogue about stammering and offers a rare exploration of communication disabilities.
